What is Tonai?

How does Tonai check my intonation?

Tonai uses real-time, on-device pitch detection that is accurate to the cent. As you play, it maps each note and compares it to a configurable A4 reference, then shows you which notes drifted sharp or flat, plus your vibrato and dynamics.

Which instruments does it work with?

Any tuned instrument: strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone), brass (trumpet, horn, trombone) and voice. Tonai supports treble, alto, tenor and bass clef and lets you practice scales in any key, up to three octaves.

Is Tonai free?

Do I need an account?

No login and no account are required. Your practice history and progress are stored privately on your device. The microphone is used only for real-time pitch detection; your audio is never recorded or transmitted.
